Energy efficiency of alternative fuels from biomass and natural gas in comparism to conventional fuels

This study gives an overview of the technical state of the art and a holistic benchmark for five alternative process chains. A lifecycle analysis was used to indicate the cumulated energy demand and cost of the processes.  The medium-term competetiveness of biofuels for the use in hybrid cars is shown.
